In Luke chapter 4 verse 18 Jesus declared the very words that were spoken by Isaiah in the book of Isaiah chapter 61.
Starting in V1 it say's " The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He as sent me to bind the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to prisoners; V2 " To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn " V3 " To grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. "
You can see by this scripture that God's greatest desire is to bring a life of fullness to people.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news. The gospel is not to serve a religion but the feeling of being love by an awesome God and that He wants the best for all people.
Jesus came to set the captives free. Free from the devil's stronghold of a life of sin and despair.
When one receives Jesus in their life, that person receives forgiveness of their sin's and receives the very life of God inside their heart by the Holy Spirit.
That life now inside of that new beleiver becomes a life of fulness and purpose.
You can't really explain it. It is like feeling love and at the same time loving life and loving people around you.
The bible as a few terms for that life. It say's we are" born again " " and another place it say's we are a "new creature in Christ Jesus ".
All it means is that God forgives our past and we start our life all over, but with Him in it. With Him as our source of life as we put our faith in Him. And that all His promises in the bible which is His word are for us to receive. Every promises of healing and blessing are now ours because we have come under His Kingship,
which is His care. We have been taken out of the Kingdom of darkness (devil's grip ) and placed in the Kingdom of light ( God's prized posession ).
In a nutshell He want's to change your story for His story. He wants to change the history of your life by giving you eternal life. Which is really an awesome fullness of life. This life get's you to know Him an how He really reveals His love for you inside your heart.
If people all over the world would just realise the reason God the Father sent His only begotten Son.
It was to restore fellowship with our creator. He hungers to reveal how He loves us.
Only sin separates human beings from Him and He sent His Son to die on the cross for the sin's of every person on planet earth. Jesus shed is blood on the cross for our sin's. For everybody is a sinner whether one beleives that or not. There is no such thing as a big sin or a small sin. Sin is sin and it needs to be taken away.
And that way is just by beleiving this simple gospel message and inviting Jesus in your life by faith.
It is that simple.

Jesus said in Mathew chapter 11 V28 " Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. V29 " Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." V30 " For My yoke is easy and M burden is light. " |
